So I decided to go ahead and meet with an allergist, Kaiden has had a few strange reactions to some foods. The first was when I was nursing and had a shrimp pasta, and after he nursed he was throwing up, and broke out in a strange rash, so the pediatrician said to avoid shellfish untill he was two and then give him just the slightest bit to see if he reacts. The next thing we noticed was dairy, when we started giving him formula he was waking up a lot at night, really cranky during the day, spitting up a lot, so we played around with his formula and when we tried soy he seemed like a different baby, then we gave him some freeze dried yogurt bites and that night he was up most of the night with an upset tummy, then we gave him just a but of cheese, and that made him throw up and was up all night again. So....long story short we were believing it was just a dairy aversion, or lactose intolerance problem, but were cutting out dairy till two as well. The lastest episode came a few days ago when I gave him applesauce and it made him throw up, then yesterday gave him a couple slices of apples and again he threw up. Our peditrician told us it's proabably time to make a visit to an allergist to determine what, if anything, he is allergic to. It will be interedsting to see, I never realized kids could be allergic to apples, but apparently 2 % off the population has an apple allergy. We'll be visitng the allergist next week and will make another post when we figure things out. That's all for now

My birthday
Today is my 29th birthday, and it the first that my daughter actually has a knowledge of what birthdays are. Yesterday my husband kept telling Kailynn that "tomorrow is mommies birthday" she finally came up to me and asked with all sincerity "mommy, can I come to your birthday?" haha, of course little darling, for having you and your brother around is all that a mommy could want. Nothing warms my heart more than having those two little ones close to me. As soon as Kailynn remembered that today was my birthday, she immediatley wanted me to "open presents". I got some very nice things, but the best presents can't be unwrapped, just being with my family is the best present anyone could ask for (I guess I really am getting older, haha) Tonight it is off for a mexican dinner with the kiddos in tow, we are going early hoping the place won't be too full yet, so the kids can make noise and not bother too many people, bringing lots of snacks, and crayons to keep the kids busy. Now I'm off to enjoy my birthday presents, and get some snuggles from my little gifts. Have a good week!

Getting started
I have decided to give this a try. I have always loved to write and I thought it would be fun to put my thoughts into a blog. I am a stay at home mom of two delightful (yet at times challenging) kiddos. My daughter Kailynn will be three in march, and my son Kaiden just turned one. I will be writing about the ups and downs of parenting, and as I go I will include tips, funny stories and life lessons. Hopefully my life will be a fun read for some people. Hope to hear from you soon! ~Kim
